Turning Your Garden into a Party Venue

Posted on Nov 18, 2015

Creating a perfect garden requires a lot of time, dedication, hard work and some money along the way to cover the expenses. But, once the garden is finished, one can relax and enjoy the day in his back yard, have a BBQ with his friends and family, or throw a garden party. In order to utilize the entire garden for a party, one has to put a lot of effort into preparations. There are many things which have to be done, and to start with, take a look at the tips listed below.

Choose a Party Theme

Parties can go in so many different ways, but sometimes the quality of the party may depend on its theme. If your theme is dull and boring, people might not come. So try to think of something creative and appealing, and inspire people to come and bring their best mood. Since the garden is the venue, throwing down an Elves theme party or a Robin Hood theme seems like the right thing to do. Keep in mind that you and your guests must have fun, and that everything else can be disregarded.

Play That Funky Music

Once your theme is chosen, get prepared by setting the right type of music which goes with it. Do not rely on the internet and make a crucial mistake by letting your friends choose the music on the spot; a single network error can ruin the party, and you cannot fulfil every friend’s wish. Make sure you have plenty of party music downloaded on CDs, or the computer, and have the playlists ready for different variations. Rent a good sound system, since the speakers themselves won’t do it. Or, if you have enough money, simply rent a DJ and solve all your problems.

Drinks and Food Do Matter

This part of the party is responsible for keeping the guests satisfied. If you are planning to invite more than 20 people, forget about using plates and forks and create a self-service buffet. Make sure you know how many people will be present for you do not want to run out of food. Also, get enough of diverse liquor, for all types of guests. If you visit some of the big supermarkets, you will find fine liquor specials and get more liquor for less money. Try to synchronize the theme with the type of liquor and food you will be serving, and your guests will have one heck of a time.

Set up the Party Accordingly

It is very important to monitor the weather at all times, and also to check the weather condition few days in advance. You do not want rain pouring all over your guests, nor gusts of winds throwing your buffet to the ground. Pick a sunny day, and make sure you create some shade and protection from the sun. You can use different marquees and banners to separate your garden into different parts, for instance the part with the food and the part where guests will dance. Once you have everything set up, think about where your music will stand, for you do not want a drunken guest falling over your computer.

The more effort you put into throwing a party, the better will the results be. Your goal is to have a great time, and to make sure your guests have fun as well. When all of the planning details have been gone through, all that remains is to welcome the guests, turn the volume up and let the party begin.

About Lillian Connors

If one thing is true about Lillian Connors, her mind is utterly curious. That’s why she can’t resist the urge to embark on a myriad of home improvement projects and spread the word about them. She’s also deeply into green practices, cherishing the notion that sustainable housing and gardening will not only make us far less dependent on others regarding the dwellings we inhabit and what we eat, but also contribute to our planet being a better place to live on. When she is not trying to improve the things around her (and herself, for that matter), she likes to lose herself in a good book and sip on an occasional appletini.
